In 2015, the music streaming service TIDAL made the headlines: none less than Jay Z bought the platform. Since then, TIDAL has been characterised by its very high sound quality. With over 100 million songs, 650,000 videos and countless interviews, the range of high quality content is big.
Streaming income normally ranges between 0.1 and 1 cent per play. The amount is dependent on the service’s advertising revenue, its price model, the channel used, the country and the number of premium customers (and more) and therefore varies on a monthly basis.
Important: contrary to some rumours, musicians are also paid money per stream in the ad-financed Freemium model. We have summarised the issue of streaming income here.
